The complicated web of starting College.

This goes back a few years. First I had dropped out, my family as a long line of people who just worked entry level jobs, or jobs they acquired experience in through time. The problem this caused might seem subtle if you've never really had it.
So for awhile, I was fishing around for where to get my GED, the proper order of things and price.
That eventually all worked out and was a piece of cake (I scored perfect on 3 of the 5 parts of the test, surpassed the allotted point system for college entry and so on).
It was, however, the second part of this life journey that caused a bit of stumbling around.
Coming from a family like mine, in a small town. Scratch that. A small southern town full of bumpkins, myself included, figuring out all the trappings was confusing.
First there was Fasfa. Albeit I was approved, the college actually foiled me getting in sooner due to a miscommunication.
So. One year later, Fasfa approved and ready to roll.
STOP. Sorry, you need to attend Student Orientation. Check.
Okay, now go to the site, sign up for ACUPLACER. Check.
After that, pick a major, talk to the Financial Aid, go back talk to another advisor. Plan out your first semester, then leave. Go home, pick out the classes you want, based upon your major.
Last step. LAAST STEP. Hold up. I've been out of the learning setting for how many years. About 6.
The last part, picking out classes. Okay. It isn't hard as much as a lot to take in. Seems like I'm going to need to sit down, figure out what classes I can take, given that they don't overlap one another in time, and come out with 12 college hours.
I think I'll do that tomorrow. Anyone have any tips? It seems like a lot to take in and manage, at first.

  1. I'm going to assume you got your classes picked out. I loved picking my classes. It was probably the fun part of college for me lol.
